Inexpensive Mother's Day Gifts

Win big and save big with these thoughtful gifts

Your Mom always wanted to make sure you saved your money. Well, with our helpful list you can both save money and make sure she has a great Mother’s Day. Now Mom will be doubly happy.

Cookie or Dessert Basket

There are tons of options when it comes to gift baskets, but why not give your Mom something a little indulgent? Dessert baskets come in a variety of assortments and flavors. Or, if you want something a little more specific, try a cookie basket if your Mom can’t resist chocolate chips. Of course if she’s health-conscious, you can always get your Mom the tried-and-true fruit basket. If you’re big on time and short on cash, you can always make your own too. By creating your own gift basket you’ll be able craft something that’s unique and personalized to your Mom’s own tastes. Either way, you’ll be giving a gift that’s both thoughtful and delicious.

Wine and cheese – the perfect combination – and one that is pretty hard to resist. If you know a particular wine or cheese that your Mom likes, try searching online for the perfect pairing. If she already has ones she likes or if you’re just looking to help her stock up for get-togethers with her friends, you can also buy the perfect party accoutrements. She may only have one set of wine glasses. If so, trying buying a different kind (remember, red wine in round and wide glasses and white in more narrow glasses). Or, she’s looking for something more casual, try getting stemless wine glasses. New glasses are a great, and cheap, way to dress up a wine party.

Photo Album

We all love reminiscing, but no one loves reminiscing more than parents. It’s a great way to bond and it’s a nice reminder of everything a family has been through together. If you have piles of loose photos, go through all of them and put together an album. You can choose to great a “best of” of moments that haven’t been put in albums yet or you can create one around a specific event or series of events (think “Holidays through the Years”). If you don’t have physical photos, print out some digital photos. Try creating a scrapbook if you’d like to add an extra layer of thoughtfulness and glamour.

Tote Bags

Okay, this one may be a little misleading. We don’t want you to just give your Mom a tote bag (unless that’s really all she wants). This is one gift that’s just crying out for personalization. Fill it with her favorite things whether that’s snacks or candles or books. That kind of flexibility means you’re not only able to make sure it’s filled with things that your Mom loves, but you’re able to do it on-budget. If you’re feeling especially craft-y, try decorating the bag as well. This is one of the few times that the wrapping can be just as special as the gift itself.

Bath Set

One thing about Moms, no matter their age, is that they do a lot for their kids. And your Mom can always use a little alone time to relax. What better way to relax than to sit in a soothing, calming bath? And the perfect way to get a good bath started is with a bath set. Sets offer well-rounded products that often give you anything you could need in a bath with scents that complement one another – all without you having to go out and find each item individually. Give Mom one of these and some time when she can relax and you’ll have officially won Mother’s Day.
